The sight of more than 100 lanterns floating on the surface of the river is a masterpiece.

Inheriting the tradition of "lantern floating" to memorialize the spirits of ancestors in reference to the legend of the Heike family, the Oda Lantern Festival has been revived in a new form in 2023.

The large picture lanterns that once paraded through the town illuminate the venue gorgeously, and the lively voices of children echo in the food stall area. Don't miss the performances by the town's Japanese taiko drum troupe and creative plays by Shikoku Gakuin University and local High School students.

At the end of the festival, more than 100 lanterns gently illuminate the Oda River, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
