A special winter-only experience has arrived in Uchiko.

Surrounded by mountains, Uchiko Town experiences significant temperature differences between night and morning. On clear, cold mornings, this creates the perfect conditions for a breathtaking sea of clouds.

Imagine enjoying breakfast while watching the sunrise above a sea of clouds from a mountaintop.

This unique experience takes place at Tenchu-no-yado HIROKO, a cozy guesthouse run by a local farming couple. Breakfast features fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including raw eggs, seasonal grilled vegetables, rice, miso soup, and more—simple, nourishing food to enjoy alongside crisp mountain air.

• ¥3,000 per person
• ¥2,500 for elementary school children

Important Information

• Transportation is not included. Guests are advised to travel by rental car or taxi. The guesthouse is located in the mountains, approximately a 15-minute drive from central Uchiko. Please note that some roads are narrow.
• The host does not speak English. If you require a translator, please contact us in advance.
• The sea of clouds is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed.
