2024.9.2Important Notice: Temporary Closure of Uchiko-za
Uchiko-za Theater will be closed from September 2, 2024, for large-scale conservation and restoration work, including seismic reinforcement. The renovationis expected to take approximately four years.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding and support as we work to preserve Uchiko-za for future generations.
Notice: Backstage Dressing Room Open to Visitors from October 5, 2024
During the renovation period, visitors can explore the historic backstage dressing rooms located behind Uchiko-za. Normally closed to the public while the theater is in operation, this special area now features exhibitions introducing the history of Uchiko-za, displays related to the ongoing restoration work, and a wall of performers’ autographs. Original Uchiko-za goods are also available for purchase.
