Not only children, but adults too enjoy the kite theme park

Here you can find an exhibition of kites from all over Japan and the world.
To provide an insight into the Japanese cultural tradition of kites, a variety of exhibits detailing how kites are created from Japanese paper and bamboo are on display. Visitors to the museum are welcome to borrow a kite, free-charge to fly at riverside right next to the museum.

Ikazaki Kite Battle Festival
The Ikazaki Kite Battle festival has a history of over 400 years, it is the biggest traditional event of Uchiko. On both sides of the Oda River, spectators rejoice watching over 500 huge kites soaring into the sky! Using kites equipped with razorsharp blades called "Gagari" to cut the opponents string, a heroic battle unfolds. The event, that takes place on May 5 every year, has been designated as Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Ehime Prefecture.

【Meet The Local】Washi and Paper craft Tour
A Guided Tour for Washi Lovers
Visit a Japanese paper factory to see how Washi are made and make your own paper. And take the paper you just made to make a notebook by Japanese binding technique. Then visit ORIGAMI vending machine to get a small but unique souvenir. In the end, visit a kite museum to learn about kites and history of this area. When the weather is good, you can fly a kite on the riverside.
