Odamiyama’s Colourful Wilderness
Mountain Adventure
All travellers are welcome in Odamiyama Valley, a section of the Shikoku Karst Prefectural Natural Park. In addition to beautiful flora and fauna, you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities year-round. Opportunities for hiking, fishing, and wading are plentiful from spring to fall, and skiing and other snow activities in the winter. The colourful Mount Kasatori is stationed as a timeless height with hiking suitable for all ages. If you scale the top, you will get a wonderful view of the seasonal colours, as well as the highest mountain of Western Japan, the great Mount Ishizuchi from far off. Nestled all around are giant trees - many dating over a millennium - standing tall as silent guardians of the forests. In June, the mountains will bloom full of the deep pink hue of the many mountain azaleas, a hardy, stunning, and lovely scented flower that flourishes even in craggy locales. Cool spring waters flow across large boulders smoothed by their touch, their song captivating and familiar. Breathe in the refreshing calm of Mother Nature in these rich mountains that have stood the test of time.
Other recommended sites to check out nearby include Rordside station Oda-no-sato SESERAGI, as well as the many shrines; such as Mishima Shrine and Hirose Shrine.
